Thyolo is a market town in the main tea growing area south east of Blantyre. It is reached via an excellent new tar road.

Visitors come to Thyolo mainly to enjoy the beautiful setting and surroundings of this small town. There are very few amenities, apart from a good sports club with facilities for cricket, rugby, football, tennis, squash and swimming. There is also a restaurant and bar.
