Mbarara is a town in southwestern Uganda, located about 266km from Kampala. It is the main municipality of Mbarara District. It is also the largest urban centre in Western Uganda. Mbarara is an important transport hub, lying west of Masaka on the road to Kabale, near Lake Mburo National Park.
