| Runavík is a comparatively urbanised village in the Faroe Islands. It lies on the south half of the isle of Eysturoy. The municipality of the same name incorporates 14 settlements including Saltangará, Æðuvík, Glyvrar, Lambi, Rituvík, Skipanes, Søldarfjørður and Lambareiði which together form a long, narrow residential connurbation over 10 kilometre long following the east bank Skálafjørður (a fjord). As of 2010 the municipality had a total population of 3797 inhabitants, a rise of over 100 in five years. |
