The naked body of a Danish tourist was found in a suburb of Uganda's capital with burns and deep cuts, police said Thursday.

Toke Lauritzen, 35, had been in Uganda for about a month and was staying at a backpackers' lodge, police commander Edward Ochom said. A passer-by found the body in the bush, with his passport and other documents nearby, Ochom said.

Details of the death were not clear. Danish ambassador Stig Barlyng confirmed the death but had no further comment
