Mozambique has undertaken a large scale plan to transform the country into the top destination for tourists from all over the world. Among others, national parks and reserves are being created, the coastline is being marketed abroad, and the accommodation infrastructure is booming. The 2010 world cup in neighbouring South Africa is offering another unprecedented chance to enhance the country’s tourism infrastructure, with targets fixed at 6 millions tourists a year by 2020.
