The search for missing Israeli tourist Liat Okin will today concentrate on a section of the Routeburn track, Queenstown police said today.
Ms Okin, 35, has been missing for more than a week after she failed to return from the Routeburn track on March 25.
A 14-strong search and rescue party will today search a sub-alpine area of the track north of the Mackenzie Hut, a police spokesman told NZPA.
The Department of Conservation website describes this section of the Routeburn track as "very exposed and extremely hazardous in adverse weather conditions".
Ms Okin is 1.46m tall with a thin build, olive complexion, brown eyes and dark curly shoulder length hair, worn in a pony tail.
She was last seen wearing a red hoodie with zip up front, jeans and a backpack.
Police said yesterday that they did not believe anything sinister had happened to her.
