The Shreveport-Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau is scheduled to give a presentation during the Downtown Development Authority board of directors’ meeting Tuesday.
Brandy Claiborne, vice president of communications for the bureau, will speak about research conducted on branding for the region.
“A brand should always be bigger than a marketing campaign,” Claiborne said.
The bureau hired North Star Destination Strategies to research the area. The company defines branding as “the process a city, region, community or municipality embarks upon to change, refine or improve what people are saying about them,” according to the company’s Web site.
Plans are to move forward with the creative portion of the project in conjunction with a downtown banner project the Downtown Development Authority has been working, Claiborne said.
Other agenda items include a public hearing about the revised 2008 budget, audit engagement letter and the Red River District. The meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. inside the Downtown Development Authority’s conference room at 401 Edwards St., Suite 205.
