Police sources have confirmed that 57-year-old electrician Eugene Horton of Big Creek, California, USA, died while snorkeling with his wife and several persons at Norman Island beach on Thursday.

It is reported that about half hour after entering the water, the other swimmers noticed that Horton was in the same position for a while. On checking, they realized that he was unresponsive.

They were able to get him back into the dinghy where three persons who were snorkeling tried to revive him. They were reported to be doctors.

According to police sources, Horton was suffering from high blood pressure and was a diabetic. A number of Horton’s medications were handed over to the police.
