Upset with travel agency
“I booked and paid for four tickets to London on Gulf Air through Parlo Tours Sdn Bhd during the recent Matta fair. Suddenly, the agency told me that the date,” she says.
RANITA says she and her family were supposed to depart from Kuala Lumpur on Nov 5 and return on Nov 28 but now they are scheduled to fly out on Nov 6. The return date remains the same.
“Earlier, I was told that once a booking was made, no changes were allowed. If the passenger insisted on a change, they would have to pay a high penalty for cancelling or changing the flight dates.
“But last week, I was informed by the agency that the airline changed our flight to London without giving any reason,” she adds.
RANITA feels the tour agency should also be liable to pay compensation as she would have if she had cancelled or changed her flight arrangements.
- RAYMOND Woo from Parlo Tours in Ipoh clarifies that the agency is not involved in the flight arrangement and they should not be made liable to compensate RANITA for the change in plan.
“We were informed by the carrier company that there won’t be any flight to London on Nov 5 so they changed their flight to the next day,” he says.
